Das Unit Eleven Jazz Orchestra wurde 2002 von Helga Plankensteiner und Michael Lösch gegründet und vereint einige der besten Jazzmusiker aus Südtirol und dem Trentino zu einer „small“ Big Band. Diese elfköpfige Besetzung schließt an Ellington’s Small Bands, Tadd Dameron, Gil Evans Orchestra oder Carla Bley Band an.
